Artform: Visual Art
The Autism Hampshire Online Art Exhibition was due to be exhibited at the Nuffield City Theatre in Southampton celebrating talent and creativity throughout World Autism Awareness Week 2020.
At the time, due to COVID 19, the exhibition was postponed. The decision was to instead showcase this incredible selection of work to the public online.
Southampton based artist Deborah Goatley-Birch, who is autistic, has curated the exhibition and in place of the planned live exhibition, will present the artwork through a series of short films.
Every day during World Autism Awareness Week 2020, Autism Hampshire shared a selection of work from local artists who are on the autism spectrum via their website and social media platforms.
Deborah is currently curating a virtual art gallery to display artists new work in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. This went live on the Autism Hampshire website on the 20th July 2020 and will be showcased at the All in the Mind Festival on Saturday 12th September 2020.
